As I have historically always titled each blog post “My Trading Day” I feel I should just carry on doing it – but today is NOT a trading day unfortunately.

I have a neighbour at my weekend cottage up in Suffolk who keeps an eye on the place when I am not there, and he phoned at 6am this morning to tell me I have quite a serious water leak, so I hopped on my motorbike straight away and headed up there.

The whole day was spent digging holes, pulling down walls and generally messing things up in an attempt to modernise the water system in the cottage. I am not being tight-fisted about paying a couple of plumbers to do the job (which would probably take them just a day to complete) but I do relish a challenge, and with my limited knowledge of the subject built up over 25 years of developing property, I took up the task with enthusiasm.

Work for the day finished at 10pm with a walk along the beach to the Lord Nelson pub……..
